Magnesite (MgCO₃) is offered in three states: raw, caustic calcined (CCM) and dead-burned (DBM). Dead-burned grade above 90% MgO goes into refractory brick for steel and cement kilns, while caustic calcined grade serves agriculture, animal feed and the chemical industry. It is the calcination temperature, not the grade alone, that determines the application.
