Mica is supplied as muscovite (light) or phlogopite (amber) and exported in flake, powder or sheet form. It is an excellent electrical insulator and remains stable under heat, which is why it is used in electrical products, metallic paints, drilling and cosmetics. Flake size and iron content are the two factors that determine the grade.
