Polybutadiene rubber is produced by polymerising butadiene; in high-cis grades more than 96% of the chains have the cis-1,4 structure. That structure is what gives it high resilience, excellent abrasion resistance and flexibility at low temperature — a combination few other rubbers offer at once.
