Calcium carbonate is the cheapest and most widely used filler for polypropylene. Loaded up to around 50%, it lowers unit cost while raising stiffness and dimensional stability and improving thermal conductivity, which shortens the injection cycle. Stearate surface treatment of the particles is the key to even dispersion and to preserving impact strength.
