Higher heat resistance than PA6 — under-bonnet automotive parts

Polyamide 66 melts higher than PA6 (around 260 °C against 220 °C), which makes it the better choice for parts running hot — under-bonnet components, electrical connectors and heat-resistant assemblies. In exchange it has a narrower processing window and needs more careful drying. The 30% glass-fibre reinforced grade is its most widely used form.
