A polypropylene compound is the base resin plus an additive package — heat stabiliser, antioxidant, processing aid and, where required, filler and colour — melt-blended in a twin-screw extruder and re-pelletised. The choice of homopolymer or copolymer base sets the balance between stiffness and impact strength. The final specification of each order is tuned to the part's application rather than taken from a shelf grade.
