Flame-retardant compounds are normally specified against UL94 at the V-0 or V-2 level. The retardant system may be halogenated, phosphorus-based or built on metal hydroxides, and the choice affects both mechanical properties and acceptance in the destination market — European markets restrict certain halogenated retardants. The system used and the UL94 rating are stated explicitly with every enquiry.
