Elastomer-modified for low-temperature impact strength

Impact modification means dispersing an elastomeric phase through the polymer matrix so that impact energy is absorbed in the soft phase instead of causing brittle fracture. The effect shows up mainly at low temperature, where the neat polymer turns brittle. The cost is reduced stiffness and sometimes heat resistance, so the modifier level should be set by the part's lowest service temperature and no higher.
