Polystyrene compounds are built on GPPS (clear and rigid) or HIPS (opaque and impact-resistant). GPPS serves transparent and disposable parts, HIPS appliance housings, containers and thermoforming sheet. Impact modifier, colour and stabiliser are added at this compounding stage. Both bases are sensitive to fats and organic solvents.
