Calcium-carbonate-filled polyethylene is supplied both as a complete compound and as a filler masterbatch. In film, a balanced loading improves opacity and printability while lowering cost; in pipe and injection parts it increases stiffness. Over-loading reduces elongation and tear strength in film, so the percentage has to match the application.
